The effects, are a bit like the food pyramid advice (outright wrong) and the Harvard attempt to make changes (the food plate) although advocating for wholegrain foods for instance, still falls short of addressing the quantity of carbohydrates and the importance of individualised nutrition. If we take into consideration the hypothesis of Alzheimer's disease as "Type 3 Diabetes" (I will be doing a piece on it soon) which suggests that insulin resistance and glucose dis-regulation in the brain contribute to the development of the disease, then it makes it very difficult for each individual to meet heir needs.
